Morimoto Asia is nestled in among Disney Springs, located in the heart of Orlando, Florida. Surrounded by swanky shops and vibrant atmosphere is the Japanese master chef Masaharu Morimoto's first pan-Asian restaurant. The restaurant is beautifully modern with an interior that features lounges, private dining spaces, and a glass kitchen. We went in hungry and did not leave disappointed.

Pork Dumplings

Pictured above is our appetizer of steamed pork dumplings. Filled with pork, napa cabbage, and scallion. Served billowing in steam and delicious smells the instant the lid is removed.

Spicy Chashu Pork Ramen

After the dumplings we continued to sample the menu by tasting the spicy chashu pork ramen. This consisted of a soy flavored broth, egg noodles, roasted pork, soy marinated egg, and scallion.

Spicy Stir Fried Jumbo Shrimp

In addition to the ramen we chose to try the spicy stir fried jumbo shrimp which was a beautiful combination of jumbo shrimp with szechuan chili sauce, vegetable fried rice, and a poached egg which is cracked fresh table-side.

Churro Fondue

Chocolate Cream & Crunch

We just love dessert, so we couldn't pass up the best part of the meal. We chose to try the churro fondue and the chocolate cream & crunch. The churro fondue consisted of homemade chocolate churros, vanilla cream, and a homemade hazelnut spread. Served in the little container on the plate, this was an interesting touch and made eating it an experience in itself. However, the chocolate cream & crunch really stole the show. It was an Oreo tempura served with mandarin orange jelly that lay atop a very light and fluffy chocolate mousse. At the very bottom of the bowl was a lining of hazelnut chocolate crunchies that gave the dish a nice bit of texture. It's all topped with dark chocolate gelato decorated with some small edible flowers. The combination of flavors in the mousse with the flavor and texture break-up provided by the Oreo tempura was delicious and unique. I would highly recommend it to anyone planning on visiting Chef Masaharu Morimoto's restaurant anytime soon!
